Intensive end of the 2018/2019 school year at School in Jamki-Korzonek, Poland

The end of last school year in our school in Jamki-Korzonek, Poland was very intensive. A few words about what happened.

An exhibition of old equipment was organized. It was a kind of museum, thanks to which our students could see what the life of their ancestors - grandparents and great-grandparents looked like. Students and their parents brought to school items used by their ancestors in everyday life. It turns out that such objects are still in many homes and remind us of what life used to be like.

We invited to our school Ms. Barbara Herba, passionate about history, expert on old life, author of books about old life and the history of nearby villages. Ms. Barbara Herba shared with our students her extensive knowledge about the past life in the Konopiska commune and more. She talked about the history of our commune, about old professions, about what school education looked like, how children spent their free time.

Our students visited the Regional Chamber in Hutki which undoubtedly an extraordinary place in our commune, run by an extraordinary person - Ms. Halina Kozakiewicz, who for years collected items that testify to the former lives of our ancestors. About this amazing collection you can certainly say that it is a museum of old life. We would like to thank Ms. Halina Kozakiewicz for an interesting, illustrative lesson, thanks to which we moved to the past and saw what life was like.

At the beginning of June, the festival "Cultural Heritage Day - Heritage next to me" was organized for students, their families and the local community.
During the festival, the effects of one year's work as part of the Erasmus+ project "I know where I am from" were presented, including exhibition of photographs, family trees, souvenirs museum, exhibition of children's art works, dance show, concert of old songs, concert of wishes for parents on the occasion of the past Days of Mom and Dad, sports competitions and outdoor games, there were also traditional Polish dishes. Among the large numbers of students, parents, members of the local community and invited guests, we were able to have a great time and with great satisfaction sum up the first year of our adventure with Erasmus.

Our Erasmus project during the covid pandemic

I remember March 2020, then everyone began to realize that covid is not a virus in a distant Asian country, but a threat to the whole world. Shock in Europe. Closing borders, canceling travel abroad, lockdown, isolation, fear, illness, death ... How to live, learn, work and implement projects in all of this? It was not easy ... However, decisions had to be made. How to continue the project, what about the missed trips? The solution was to extend the project for one year. We did so, we asked the National Agency to extend the project for one year. We got a positive answer. Therefore, we were facing another year of cooperation, joint activities and hope that we would be able to implement the two remaining mobilities. September 2020, the next school year started. Unfortunately, the pandemic continued, another wave of covid arrived. We tried to continue our cooperation. It turned out that life had moved to the Internet. Online meetings, carrying out tasks, exchanging experiences and ac...
